This Code of Conduct outlines the requirements of representatives of all AFAC Member agencies to contribute positively to the aims and objectives of AFAC as the industry body for fire and emergency management across Australasia.

Representatives must always:

  • Use their membership and the benefits conveyed appropriately, including the use of the AFAC logo
  • Comply with the governance requirements of AFAC and its model of collaboration
  • Act honestly and with integrity
  • Act fairly and reasonably
  • Treat others with dignity and respect
  • Use information appropriately
  • Value the diversity of our membership and communities
  • Recognise and avoid conflicts of interest
  • Protect AFAC intellectual property and knowledge

Representatives must never:

  • Take improper advantage of their position
  • Mislead others
  • Make improper use of the information they have obtained
  • Disclose confidential information
  • Otherwise behave in a way that will reflect badly on AFAC and its members

Breach of this Code of Conduct may result in AFAC taking action in accordance with its Constitution.
