With the impacts of climate change we are seeing more frequent and longer duration natural hazard events across Australia and within our region, including severe bushfires, storms, cyclones and flooding. Governments will need to make continued investment in emergency services, but where should the investment be targeted? Where will they get the “biggest bang for their buck” in making communities safer? Is technology the answer? Or is it about people?
