Access to National Data

Interested parties, particularly researchers (register here), may request access to unpublished portions of Core Data (de-identified unit record data) to undertake their own statistical analysis for particular research and/or projects.

Parties requesting de-identified unit record data must abide by the conditions of data release outlined in the Core Data Application Guide. To request unpublished or de-identified unit record data you must complete and return the form contained in the guide to:

• describe the purpose of the research
• describe the specific data set that is required
• explain how the data will be used
• explain how the results will be disseminated.

The request for data will be assessed by AFAC and if accepted will be forwarded to the custodian for action.
