European Commission studies aerial firefighting resource sharing

The National Aerial Firefighting Centre (NAFC) office recently contributed to the European Commission’s project: Study on Wild Fires Fighting Resources Sharing Models.

The aim of the study is to “analyse aerial firefighting systems and inter-government resource sharing around the world which ultimately could serve a model or partial model for a future system of aerial firefighting resources sharing and coordination in Europe.” The project will specifically examine five countries (Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the USA and South Africa). NAFC provided the European Commission with the relevant information regarding Australia.
