Good practice guidelines for fire and emergency services doctrine
AFAC has commenced work on developing good practice guidelines for fire and emergency services doctrine.
Approved as one of the major projects in the AFAC Strategic Plan, this work commenced recently with the engagement of Noetic Solutions Pty Ltd to work with the AFAC team on producing a guideline that articulates what doctrine is, a hierarchy of doctrine and what the benefits are. For those who may be asking ‘what is doctrine’, one definition that helps to explain it is “that what the organisation knows is taught; the assembled knowledge of best practice.”
This work attempts to capture implicit knowledge about doctrine and turn it into explicit knowledge for all to use. For more information about what’s happening with this project, go to the AFAC Corporate Website.
