AFAC is pleased to announce that at the recent AFAC Annual General Meeting held in Melbourne on the 29th October 2008, Mary Barry, Chief Executive Officer of Victoria State Emergency Service was appointed as a Director of AFAC.  The AFAC Council welcomes Mary to the Committee of Management.

Mary Barry replaces Philip McNamara who retired as Director-General of the New South Wales State Emergency Service, and therefore resigned as a Director of the AFAC Committee of Management.

AFAC sincerely thanks Philip for the time, effort and commitment he has shown AFAC.

NSW Fire Brigades Assistant Commissioner Murray Kear has been appointed to Philips former position as the new Director General of the NSW State Emergency Service.

On behalf of the AFAC Council and all of our member agencies, we would like to congratulate Murray on his appointment.
