Overview
Climate change looms as one of the great issues of the twenty-first century. Impacts are already evident and will intensify over time. The just-completed Garnaut Review on climate change examines the likely impacts on Australia and the region in unprecedented detail. It also proposes a comprehensive policy response, at both the domestic and international level.
Dr Stephen Howes, Professorial Fellow at the JG Crawford School at the Australian National University and member of the Garnaut Review team made a presentation to the AFAC Environmental Responsibility workshop held on 12 November 2008.
At this workshop Dr Howes provided an accessible overview of the Garnaut Review analysis and recommendations with a focus on international dimensions and impacts on Australia.
