Overview
The overall purpose of this project was to quantify the use of social networking and/or digital media among at-risk groups and to explore how effective these might be in conveying fire safety messages. Specific objectives included quantifying at-risk populations: access to the internet and use of mobile phones; levels of engagement using indicator websites such as stuff.co.nz and trade.co.nz; and use of various social networking sites such as Facebook and YouTube. Finally the researchers explore the effectiveness of digital media and social networking in conveying fire safety messages to at-risk groups.
