Overview
This report is a brief overview of progress on the grassland curing project from 1 July 2004 to date. The project aims to develop improved methods for the assessment and prediction of grassland curing, as an input into fire danger rating systems and fire behaviour models. This will be achieved through a collaborative approach, bringing together researchers and end-users from Australia and New Zealand. The project was approved for funding from 1 July 2004, and will run for a six-year period. This progress report will be produced quarterly and distributed to researchers and end-users. The intention is to produce a brief 1-2 page report to keep all interested parties up to date with progress. This first report combines details of progress for the first two quarters of the year (July-September and October-December). Detailed quarterly reports are available on the Bushfire CRC website (www.bushfirecrc.com).
