The International Bushfire Research Conference 2008 - incorporating The 15th annual AFAC Conference, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia
Over the past five years Victoria has experienced some of the most severe fire seasons and largest bushfire on record. The States land and fire agencies are preparing a strategy for government.
It means strongly emphasising prevention particuarly burning to reduce fuel loads as well as increasing our ability to put out bushfires by understanding the complex interplay between social, economic, environmental and political factors in setting new objectives and agreeing on new strategies.
