Overview
The impact that the erosion of sediment after bushfires has on the quality of drinking water in reservoirs is of crucial concern. Emergency rehabilitation such as sedimenttrapping in Australian water catchments need to be monitored post rainfall to assess
their effectiveness in protecting our water reservoirs. This Bushfire CRC research - presented here as a Fire Note - provides guidance on the type of sediment traps to use depending on expected runoff velocity, cost, ease of construction and duration required.
