Overview
Project A5 of the Bushfire CRC Bushfire spread simulation and modeling aims to produce a bushfire simulator that can be used to train fire fighters and potentially be used in bushfire emergencies.
Overview of bushfire spread simulation systems provides a review of the bushfire simulation systems currently used and discusses the input data for a bushfire behaviour model and the methods by which they have been included in various bushfire simulation systems.
The paper compares and discusses six significant fire simulation systems:
- Farsite
- Prometheus
- SiroFire
- Geofogo
- Vakalis
- FireStation
And six less significant fire simulation systems
- Clarke et al.
- Li & Magill
- Hargrove
- Green
- Berjak
- Linn
