- Date:
- April 2005
- Authors:

Overview
This report was prepared for the ACT Coroner’s inquiry into the property damage resulting from the Canberra bushfire on 18 January 2003.
An investigation was undertaken by CSIRO Manufacturing and Infrastructure Technology (CMIT) on affected areas of Canberra’s urban interface.
The survey set out to clarify the fire ignition and propagation mechanisms in these urban areas, and to identify the bushfire attack mechanisms that played a part in the unprecedented structural loss deep within the urban environment.
