The Executive Development Program is designed for senior personnel who will be responsible for future leadership and management to public safety organisations.
Participants who successfully complete the program receive the Graduate Certificate in Applied Management and will be eligible to complete the Graduate Diploma in Executive Leadership through the AFAC Executive Leadership Program. The course will examine:

Upon successfully completing the EDP, participants will be awarded a Graduate Certificate in Applied Management (Policing and Emergency Services) and become eligible to enrol in the Executive Leadership Program.
Program Outcomes
Ability to:- Analyse complex problems and deal with advanced management tasks.
- Participate in executive level decision making, particularly in the areas of corporate planning, human and financial resource management and public accountability.
- Establish parameters for judging the effectiveness of corporate processes and performance outcomes.
- Implement corporate improvement strategies consistent with their jurisdictional objectives.
- Develop quality control standards and strategies to manage results.
- Develop and implement strategic goals and plans.
- Provide leadership and direction for others.
- Model an ethical approach to decision making.
Selection Criteria
- Nominees must have a tertiary qualification and/or 9 years experience within their industry and 5 years experience in a management position (preferably within the emergency services/public safety industry).
- Nominees must have a demonstrated capacity to successfully complete the Post Graduate qualification of the Graduate Certificate in Applied Management (Policing and Emergency Services).
- Nominees should demonstrate potential for further career advancement.
- Nominees should have intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

A seven-month distance education component plus a three-week intensive residential program.
