2011 PIFSA Executive Planning Meeting
Held in the Cook Islands, the 2011 Executive Planning Meeting of the Pacific Islands Fire Services Association (PIFSA) was hosted by Chief Nga Jessie of the Cook Islands Rescue Fire Service, from 28-29th April 2011.
Opened by the Cook Islands Prime Minister and Minister for National Planning and Emergency Management the Hon Henry Puna, the meeting was held to progress the important issues of emergency preparedness and management across the Pacific. Chief Fire Officer Isaac Silas, President of PIFSA presided over discussions concerning fire and emergency service legislation, development of future leaders, firefighters and emergency workers and collectively improving fire and emergency services. AFAC supports PIFSA in its work and a number of AFAC member agencies have long standing and very successful partnership with fire and emergency services in a number of pacific countries. |

All PIFSA delegates will come together again later this year in Sydney as part of the annual AFAC Conference program.
